Amber Heard took a shot at Instagram for its censorship policies using a photo of her Aquaman co-star Jason Momoa.
Posting a photo of Jason Momoa in a half-open tuxedo jacket on her Instagram page, Aquaman star Amber Heard pointed out the double-standard on nudity guidelines on how shirtless snaps of men and women are handled on the platform. Last month, Amber Heard shared an artistic semi-nude photo of herself, alongside the similar one with Jason Momoa that she just dropped on her account, showcasing his bare chest and one of his nipples. Only Amber Heard’s photo was taken down by the social media platform.

In honor of IG’s rigorous and equitable Community Guidelines against showing the Female nipple ..and since mine enjoyed the brief privilege that’s afforded to my male counterparts.. I decided to pay homage by replacing it with a picture that DID meet IG’s strict nudity guidelines and such careful gender policies. See my stories to vote on which edit you prefer the most ..and thank you IG, here’s to 2019!
Amber Heard’s note of double-standards is a point worth raising, considering that the image that was taken down was more artistic in nature than pornographic. The images of the two Aquaman stars are not necessarily likely to change the social media platform’s policies, however.
Aquaman brought in $1.147 billion at the worldwide box office, a figure that makes it highest-grossing DC Comics film of all time. A sequel is in development at Warner Brothers, with Jason Momoa and Amber Heard both expected to return. Scheduled to be released in theaters on December 16, 2022, Aquaman 2 is being written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, with James Wan expected to return to the director’s chair after he completes a horror project for New Line Cinema.
Jason Momoa and Amber Heard last shared the screen in Aquaman. Here is the official synopsis for the movie:
From Warner Bros. Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, Aquaman, starring Jason Momoa in the title role. The film reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime—one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.
Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Patrick Wilson as Orm / Ocean Master, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Nicole Kidman as Atlanna, Ludi Lin as Captain Murk, and Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry.
Aquaman is available on Digital HD, 4K UHD Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack, and DVD. Stay tuned for the latest news on Aquaman, Jason Momoa and Amber Heard.
