Amber Tamblyn Joins FX’s ‘Y: The Last Man’ Series

Y Last Man FXAmber Tamblyn has joined the cast of FX’s Y: The Last Man, based on the comic book series from Brian K. Vaughan.

Tamblyn is set to play Mariette Callows, the daughter of the President of the United States, in the upcoming FX drama. She joins Diane Lane, Barry Keoghan, Imogen Poots, Lashana Lynch, Juliana Canfield and Marin Ireland for the FX comic book adaptation. Y: The Last Man will become the second comic book show to come from the network, joining Legion.

Based on the Vertigo comic book series by Brian K. Vaughan, which told the story of a man and his pet monkey who both inexplicably survive the extinction of every mammal with a Y chromosome, the official synopsis of Y: The Last Man reads as follows:

“Y traverses a post-apocalyptic world in which a cataclysmic event has decimated every male mammal save for one lone human. The new world order of women will explore gender, race, class and survival.”

Michael Green and Aïda Mashaka Croal are on board as showrunners and executive producers while Melina Matsoukas is set to direct the pilot and executive produce the series.
