Anthony Mackie Gets Comic-Accurate Captain America Suit To Replace Chris Evans In New Image

Captain America Chris Evans Anthony MackieAnthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson suits up as the new Captain America with a comic-accurate suit to replace Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in this new image.

It’s safe to say that Avengers: Endgame left us speechless with a lot of surprises and awestruck with the film’s satisfying conclusions to boot. Nevertheless, Avengers: Endgame didn’t tease too much of what’s to come in the future of the MCU. One of the few things Marvel Studios did reveal, however, was Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers passing on the mantle of Captain America to his friend, Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie. Both Sebastian Stan’s Bucky and Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson have taken up the mantle of Captain America in the comics.

We’ll probably see Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson become Captian America and replace Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers as Captain America in the upcoming Disney+ series Falcon And The Winter Soldier, but we’ll have to wait a bit to see that happen. In the meantime, talented artists are getting excited and imagining Anthony Mackie as the new Captain America. Check it out:

Some fans may have thought that Sebastian Stan’s Bucky was better suited for becoming the new Captain America than Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson. Nevertheless, Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers chose Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson also with what seemed Bucky’s blessing. The truth of the matter is that Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson has been the more contemporary Captain America in the recent Marvel comic book runs and fans may have found it easier to deal with him than the Winter Soldier becoming the next Cap. Also, it seems that Marvel Studios found that MCU films like Black Panther and Captain Marvel found great success by putting forth diversity.

  • Rhiscfactor

I don’t see how Bucky is “better suited.” Neither one has super powers. Bucky has the arm, Sam can fly. They’re both soldiers. As far as character, Sam has him beat by light years. We will definitely see a Bucky Cap in the future, but as the directors have been saying, he’s not ready right now. And, there’s the whole, Sebastian Stan is not a born American thing. As much as I like him, I cannot reconcile that.

I doubt it matters where an actor is born, but while Zola experimented on Bucky he’s not necessarily better suited than Sam. Bucky is mentally fried. He was traumatized, brainwashed and hunted down on multiple sides. He seemed tired in Infinity War and the Black Panther scene. There’s no way Steve would put the responsibility on him.
