Anthony Mackie Says ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Is Marvel’s ‘Best Movie Yet’

We’ve been hearing quite a bit of buzz regarding the upcoming Captain America: Civil War and Anthony Mackie is adding to it. While speaking with IGN, the actor who portrays Sam Wilson aka The Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is making a pretty bold claim and stating that this film will be the best film that Marvel has released yet. When asked how the film would differe from the previous entries in the MCU, Mackie stated the following.

“It’ll be very different because… I feel the best Marvel movies thus far have been Winter Soldier and Iron Man. And I think this movie far surpasses those two movies. I think the Russo brothers and Marvel have done a very good job with upping the ante every movie. And this one definitely does not fail to live up to that.”

In regards to what it was like to be a part of a new team of Avengers, Mackie gave a more joking reply calling the experience “dope” because he gets to “hang out with Robert Downey Jr. I love it. I love it. I get to eat lunch with him. And talk to him. And crack jokes with him. And he gives me his old clothes so it’s awesome.”

Sure, you might brush this off as an actor praising his own film but it isn’t the first bit of hefty praise that the film has received. It’s rumored that the response to test screenings has been through the roof and director James Gunn even referred to it as a “one of the best Marvel movies ever”. From the sounds of things, The Russos knocked this one out of the park. Let us know your thoughts on Mackie’s comments in the section below.
