Aquaman star Jason Momoa and the cast of Shazam! answer fan questions live on Facebook from San Diego Comic-Con.
Entertainment Weekly has brought forth both Aquaman himself, Jason Momoa, and Shazam! cast members Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, and Jack Dylan Grazer join director David F. Sandberg for a live interview from the grounds of San Diego Comic-Con.
Momoa shares how Aquaman in many ways is an origin story as the aquatic superhero hones in his aquatic abilities. Furthermore, it appears that Momoa didn’t need a stunt double for Justice League, but had to get one for Aquaman due to the action of this film.

The cast of Shazam! share their excitement in not just joining the DC film universe, but also just becoming superheroes in general. Levi himself is excited at the opportunity to be able to wear the iconic Shazam threads for the film. Levi also laments not being able to work with Angel very much as the two play the same character, therefore they didn’t have to share any scenes.

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Grace Fulton, Jack Dylan Grazer, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand and Mark Strong as Doctor Sivana. Here’s the official synopsis:
“We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).”
Shazam! is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 5, 2019.
