One of the biggest questions in the DCEU is surrounding which actor would play Green Lantern in their cinematic universe. A short list of actors has been announced for the role and amongst the names was Armie Hammer.
While in Sundance promoting his upcoming film, Call Me by Your Name, Hammer was asked by The Wrap about the early reports that have surfaced connecting him to the role of Green Lantern.
“I saw the reporting too. That’s the first I’ve heard of it.”
Hammer is best known for his work in The Social Network, The Longer Ranger and Nocturnal Animals.
The Wrap has revealed the contenders for Hal Jordan in Green Lantern Corps. Those contenders are as follows:
- Tom Cruise
- Ryan Reynolds
- Bradley Cooper
- Armie Hammer
- Jake Gyllenhaal
- Joel McHale
While some of these contenders are new, and some down right perfect (Cruise), Bradley Cooper has been in contention before and Ryan Reynolds even played Hal Jordan in the failed 2011 adaptation. While it would be weird and unlikely that Reynolds would return, the actor was the best part of Warner Bros. failed attempt at our Emerald Guardian.
Green Lantern Corps is projected for release on July 24, 2020.
