‘Arrow’ Actor & Producer On The Prometheus Reveal

Heroic Hollywood | 'Arrow': Prometheus Swears To Destory Oliver Queen In New Mid-Season Finale Clip Last night’s episode of Arrow featured the big reveal of Prometheus, the big bad of Season 5, as it was revealed that district attorney Adrian Chase was the new villainous archer this whole time. However, Chase is known as The Vigilante in the comic books and when he was added to the show, it was said that he was playing that character, so why the change? In a post-mortem interview with The Wrap, show-runner Wendy Mericle spoke about how it was their intention to mislead the fans in order to make the Prometheus reveal that more surprising.

“One of the reasons [we made Adrian Prometheus] was because we knew everyone would be thinking, ‘of course, he’s Vigilante. Because Adrian Chase is Vigilante in the comic books, we thought it would be a really fun twist to do what we always do on the show, which is to take the comic book mythology and turn it on its head and see what kind of story we can mine from a surprise like that.”

Josh Segarra, who plays Adrian/Prometheus, filled in on what we can expect next from the character as well as when Oliver and the team members will find out that their “friendly” district attorney is actually the monster they have been dealing with this season.

“They’re going to find out, we’re not going to leave it until the end of the season, we’re going to see how that pot gets stirred a little bit. I already know how he reacts and I love the way it goes, so you get to see Chase just try to burn the world around him. We’ve seen the reluctance of him to kill him, I never want to kill him. It’s kind of just to see him stir a little, make him uncomfortable. And once they do find out, then it becomes about how then to continue my mission. I know how that goes but you’ll have to see.”
