Arrow Season 5 is set continue next week when the show returns from its hiatus as Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) deals with the aftermath of his battle with Prometheus as well as the mysterious return of Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy). However, a new character from the DC Universe will be making her debut on the Green Arrow series as Lexa Doig will be recurring as Talia Al Ghul.
In Entertainment Weekly’s latest edition of the Spoiler Room, a fan asked for new details on Talia’s role in the second half of the season and whether Nyssa Al Ghul (Katrina Law) will return to share some onscreen time with her half-sister. Natalie Abrams revealed the following tease from Marc Guggenheim, executive producer and show-runner of the series, who said that it might happen.
“She’s definitely her own person; she’s not a Nyssa clone, by any stretch. You can definitely sense a familial resemblance. Having Ra’s al Ghul as your dad, it’s likely to forge a very specific kind of person. They’re close enough and different enough that I would love, at some point, to do a story with Nyssa and Talia.”
The episode description for the eleventh episode revealed that Oliver and Talia’s relationship will be established through the Russian flashbacks. However, Oliver never mentioned once to Ra’s Al Ghul (Matt Nable) in Season 3 that he knew his other daughter. Will that be addressed? According to Guggenheim, they will be giving a “very specific answer” to that in the second half of the season.
“We’ll also be dealing very directly with the fairly obvious question, which is: Wait a second, when Oliver met Ra’s al Ghul, why didn’t he say, ‘Hey, wait a minute, I think I met your daughter back in Russia! We have a very specific answer for that.”
Arrow returns with new episodes on Wednesday, January 25 at 8/7c on The CW. Make sure to check back at Heroic Hollywood after every single episode of Season 5 for our weekly reviews.
