Cody Rhodes, of WWE fame took on Oliver Queen himself, Stephen Amell during SummerSlam last year. Following their bout against each other, Rhodes was eventually cast as Derek Sampson in a special guest-starring role in Arrow‘s fifth season. Sampson was a drug dealer who garnered superhuman strength – and most fascinating of all, can feel no pain.

During an interview with Bleeding Cool, Rhodes expressed his excitement from working on his guest-starring role in that episode. When asked about whether or not he’d be returning to the world of DC TV, he seems likely to jump into another opportunity:

I would love to. There’s no concrete plans right now. I heard something might be brewing for a future season. What [DC TV producer] Greg Berlanti has done is amazing – he’s made four distinct universes, I think there’s about to be a fifth – with bringing DC to television. I would love to be part of the Arrowverse, Star City, again as Derek Sampson, or even part of something like Legends of Tomorrow. I’m a lifelong comic book reader, and they were very excited about the episode and how it turned out, as was I, so I would say there’s a good chance.

Being a lifelong comic book reader, Rhodes expressed his love for Marvel as well. He playfully discussed his love for characters like Cyclops and the Inhumans. He even told Bleeding Cool why he feels Cyclops is better than Wolverine:

I don’t understand why we celebrate a man who didn’t get the girl, and essentially just kind of complained about it, continued to try and just mow Cyclops’ lawn, and we celebrate him. Plus he’s really short. That’s not a knock on all short people, but Wolverine’s got a lot of things going against him, and we act like he’s better than Cyclops.

Hugh Jackman Wolverine is pretty special, but I’m just talking from the pages.

Going back to the Inhumans, not only did Rhodes express his love for Black Bolt, but he also revealed that he would love to have a role in Marvel’s upcoming Inhumans series:

I will fully disclose that I have been actively pursuing a couple of roles, that being one. I now have uprooted, moved to LA, to look into acting more, especially after the Arrow episode. So that would mean the world to me if that were to happen. And we’re actively looking into it. I’m all about it.

What character do you think Cody Rhodes should play if he were cast in the Inhumans series? Do you think Black Bolt would be a great choice? Sound off in the comments below.
