‘Arrow’ To Explore Olicity Break-Up In Flashbacks

Arrow

Olicity shippers may finally get the answers to their long-lingering questions when Arrow returns from its hiatus later this month. After almost an entire season of leaving viewers wondering, Oliver and Felicity’s break-up will finally take center stage in the 20th episode of the season, entitled “Underneath.”

While speaking with TV Line, Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim stated that because all of Stephen Amell’s scenes in the episode will be alongside Emily Bett Rickards, the show will not be flashing back to Russia or Lian Yu that week:

“The flashbacks are to a different time period, as we occasionally do. They take place between Seasons 4 and 5.”

So we will finally learn what that final straw was, but first, however, comes episode 5.19, entitled “Dangerous Liaisons.” Guggenheim recently revealed that the examination of the couple’s break-up will come about due to something that happens in “Dangerous Liaisons.” We’ll learn more about what that might be when Arrow returns on April 26.

Newly appointed Mayor Oliver Queen finds himself challenged as he fights on two fronts for the future of Star City. With Diggle back in the military and Thea adamant about hanging up her hood as Speedy, Team Green Arrow is down to just Oliver and Felicity – but they’re no longer the only vigilantes in town. Green Arrow’s public defeat of Damien Darhk at the end of Season Four has inspired a new crop of masked heroes to step up and defend the city, though their painful inexperience makes them obstacles, rather than allies, in the field. The arrival of a deadly new adversary will force Oliver to confront questions about his own legacy, both as mayor and as the Green Arrow.

Arrow airs Wednesday nights at 8/7c on The CW. Be sure to check back right here on Heroic Hollywood after every Season 5 episode for our weekly reviews.
