‘Arrow’ Executive Producer Reveals Title For Episode 16

Arrow Episode 16 Title The CWWhile we are still one week away from the return of Arrow Season 5, production is still going on in Vancouver, Canada. The executive producer of the show, Marc Guggenheim, revealed the title for the sixteenth episode of the new season as it starts filming today. The title for 5.16 is “Checkmate” and while there is an agency in the DC Universe with the same name, the episode won’t have anything to do with it according to Guggenheim.

It would probably be a little difficult to do Checkmate in the Arrowverse given that the agency’s founder, Amanda Waller (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) was killed off in the fourth season. Make sure to check out the new extended trailer for the mid-season premiere “Who Are You?” featuring new footage of Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance and more.

“Who Are You?” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, LV) (HDTV)

OLIVER WANTS JUSTICE; FELICITY WANTS REVENGE — Worried that Prometheus is right and he is truly a killer at heart, Oliver (Stephen Amell) looks for any ray of hope and finds it in what seems to be the miraculous return of Laurel Lance (guest star Katie Cassidy). However, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), still reeling from Detective Malone’s murder, is bent on revenge – she wants to stop Prometheus at any cost. While in prison, Diggle (David Ramsey) fights for his life. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Ben Sokolowski & Brian Ford Sullivan (#510).  Original airdate 1/25/2017.”
