‘Arrow’ Executive Producer Teases New Season 6 Character

ArrowA new addition to Arrow will most likely leave some heads turning when the sixth season of the hit DC show premieres. The character in question is Samandra Watson, an FBI agent who will be portrayed by rising star Sydelle Noel, who will next be seen in Black Panther.

When speaking with TVLine (via Comicbook.com), Arrow executive producer Wendy Mericle discussed how Watson’s character will complicate Oliver Queen’s plans to keep his identity as the Green Arrow a secret.

“Oliver is going to be in some hot water, in a way we haven’t seen before. And Samandra Watson is going to be spearheading that cause. She’s going to get very close to the truth about what Oliver has been up to.”

With Oliver continuing his mayoral run, it’ll be interesting to see how he tackles both his public and private persona in the upcoming season. Seeing as Oliver’s public life coincides with the law, he’ll certainly be seen butting heads with Samandra Watson.

“After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), his vigilante-trained sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), Deputy Mayor Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and his new recruits, street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez) and meta-human Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy). Oliver has finally solidified and strengthened his crime-fighting team only to have it threatened when unexpected enemies from his past return to Star City, forcing Oliver to rethink his relationship with each member of his “family”

Arrow returns on Thursday, October 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

7 Green Lantern Stories We’d Love To See Adapted For The Big Screen

Previous1 of 8

Green Lantern CorpsThere were no major Green Lantern characters in Justice League, but the hero is eventually set to hit the big screen again in 2020 with Green Lantern Corps. The real mystery is what kind of Lantern stories will the movie have and who will wield a ring? The only thing I know is it’s not a good idea to wait for Ryan “Deadpool” Reynolds to mutter the Green Lantern oath on the big screen anytime soon.

There are so many stories and unique Green Lanterns the movie could draw from, so at the end of the day I hope the material is treated with the respect it deserves.  It took some hard work, but I whittled my favorite stories down to this list of seven easily adaptable arc that show off some of the action and emotion Green Lantern has to offer. Don’t expect to recommend any simple origin stories here, though — man-oh-man am I tired of seeing those.
