Stephen Amell just broke some news that die-hard Arrow fans will be excited to hear regarding a certain facial feature the iconic hero is known for wearing.

Arrow has just wrapped its sixth season and left fans wondering what would happen to Star City’s greatest hero. No major storyline news was given but a certain tidbit on a slight change in appearance did come up. While addressing a crowd at Motor City Comic-Con, Arrow star Stephen Amell spoke to several anxious fans regarding what they’ll see when Arrow returns for its seventh season.

“Just because you’ve been polite, and just because everyone has been so nice to me today, I can break some news for you and let you know that in Season Seven I am going to debut the goatee.”

“I can’t promise that I’m going to keep [the goatee] forever,” he said. “I can definitely promise that I’m not going to wear the stupid hat.”

So the goatee will definitely be making its debut on the next season of Arrow. But most likely to some fans’ dismay, Oliver Queen’s “hat” will continue to just be part of Arrow’s comic book world. The character’s iconic goatee has been something fans have been waiting for since Amell made them this promise back in September of 2017.

“I promise you, before the series – not season, series – ends, we will have at least one shot with the iconic goatee,” Amell revealed.

There’s no doubt The CW has a ton of surprises in store for fans when Arrow makes its triumphant return. The goatee will just be one of the things fans will enjoy along with all the other Easter eggs the seventh season will bring when it airs this Fall on The CW.

Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen/Speedy, Paul Blackthorne as Quentin Lance, Juliana Harkavy as Dinah Drake/Black Canary, Rick Gonzalez as Rene Ramirez/Wild Dog, Echo Kellum as Curtis Holt/Wild Dog and Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance/Black Siren.

Starting next season, Arrow will be airing on Monday nights on The CW.
