‘Arrow’: Stephen Amell On Who He Would Bring Back From The Dead

Arrow Season 6 Fallout 1Stephen Amell has played the Green Arrow for six seasons now over the run of The CW hit show. His character has also witnessed many of his friends and enemies die in the fight to save his city. Given the chance, there are many opportunities to bring someone back from the dead, but who would Amell choose?

ComicBook.com reports that Stephen Amell, who was speaking at Salt Lake Comic Con, noted that he would bring back a popular season one character if given the opportunity:

“For me, it’s always Tommy Merlyn. Definitely Tommy.”

Tommy Merlyn was Oliver Queen’s best friend, who was killed in the show’s first season when the Green Arrow was attempting to defeat Tommy’s father, Malcolm Merlyn. Amell went on to talk about Tommy’s significance and why he would be his choice to bring back:

“As great as the emotional significance of him dying in the season one finale was, and as much as that impacted and sort of reverberates through the show, I really would’ve loved to see what happened to that character. Because obviously, the lore of Tommy Merlyn is that he becomes Oliver’s greatest nemesis.”

If Tommy Merlyn were to make a return, it would be an interesting dynamic for Team Arrow. Tommy was introduced when the show was still finding its footing early on, and to reintroduce him at a time when the show has established so much lore would be a complete turnaround for the characters in the show.

7 Green Lantern Stories We’d Love To See Adapted For The Big Screen

Previous1 of 8

Green Lantern CorpsThere were no major Green Lantern characters in Justice League, but the hero is eventually set to hit the big screen again in 2020 with Green Lantern Corps. The real mystery is what kind of Lantern stories will the movie have and who will wield a ring? The only thing I know is it’s not a good idea to wait for Ryan “Deadpool” Reynolds to mutter the Green Lantern oath on the big screen anytime soon.

There are so many stories and unique Green Lanterns the movie could draw from, so at the end of the day I hope the material is treated with the respect it deserves.  It took some hard work, but I whittled my favorite stories down to this list of seven easily adaptable arc that show off some of the action and emotion Green Lantern has to offer. Don’t expect to recommend any simple origin stories here, though — man-oh-man am I tired of seeing those.
