‘Arrow’ Not Looking To Add New Team Members In Season 6

The ending of the Arrow Season 5 Finale left the fate of quite a few team members up in the air when Prometheus (Josh Segarra) detonated a bomb on Lian Yu with all of Oliver’s friends on it. Despite this, Team Arrow will not be recruiting any new heroes to their ranks in the upcoming sixth season.

During an interview with ComicBook.com at San Diego Comic Con 2017 this past weekend, showrunner Marc Guggenheim stated the following regarding the lineup for Team Arrow next season:

“Regardless of what the size of the team is, post-season 5, we are not looking right now to add additional people to it.”

So far, the only characters that we know for sure are returning next season are Oliver Queen/Green Arrow himself (Stephen Amell), his son William Clayton (Jack Moore), Slade Wilson/Deathstroke (Manu Bennett) and Dinah Drake/Black Canary (Juliana Harkavy), all of whom were featured prominently in the Season 6 trailer that debuted at SDCC last weekend.

Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, David Ramsey as John Diggle/Spartan, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, Willa Holland as Thea Queen/Speedy, Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance/Black Siren, Paul Blackthorne as Deputy Mayor Quentin Lance, Echo Kellum as Curtis Holt/Mr. Terrific, Rick Gonzalez as Rene Ramirez/Wild Dog, Juliana Harkavy as Dinah Drake/Black Canary and Michael Emerson in an undisclosed role.

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), his vigilante-trained sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), Deputy Mayor Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and his new recruits, street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez) and meta-human Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy). Oliver has finally solidified and strengthened his crime-fighting team only to have it threatened when unexpected enemies from his past return to Star City, forcing Oliver to rethink his relationship with each member of his “family.”

Arrow returns for its sixth season on Thursday, October 12 at 9pm ET on The CW.
