‘Arrow’ EP Teases Tina Boland’s Connection To DC Comics

Arrow Tina BolandArrow is officially returning tonight from its winter hiatus to kick off the second half of Season 5 which will feature several new faces popping up. One of them will be Juliana Harkavy as the character of Tina Boland who is a former Central City detective that will introduced quite soon. According to Marc Guggenheim, one of the show-runners, we will apparently be getting “a glimpse” of her in tonight’s episode.

In a new interview with Comic Book Resources, Wendy Mericle, the other show-runner of Arrow, was asked about if Tina might actually have a connection to the DC Universe. When asked, Mericle teased that there is going to be a reveal of her connection to the DC mythology.

“We’re going to reveal her to be somebody very much connected to the comics.”

The episode description for next week’s episode revealed that she is apparently a mysterious vigilante “who has been wreaking havoc all over the country.” that Curtis Holt discovered online. Might that be when we find out who she actually is? Only time will tell. Mericle also spoke about the dynamic that she and Oliver will have when they get introduced to one another.

“She’s going to factor into the back half of the season. She comes into the story in a really interesting way. She’s like Oliver, has lost somebody and is hellbent for revenge. She is an amazing fighter. She has a lot of skills, and she’s very much a peer of Oliver, so they have an instant connection since they’ve both been through a version of hell. It’s ultimately him that’s going to show her a different way to do this — a different way to get revenge than just killing people.”

Arrow returns with new episodes on Wednesday, January 25 at 8/7c on The CW. Make sure to check back at Heroic Hollywood after every single episode of Season 5 for our weekly reviews.

Sounds like a rehash of the Huntress storyline from Season 1, this time with the new recruits and the hero being Black Canary
