In an age of reboots and continuations on the small-screen, “Ash vs. Evil Dead” stands out for taking the gory inanity of the original Sam Raimi films on full-force. With its second season is already on the way for a fall release, new video and promotional art have been published to the show’s Facebook page, detailing the further adventures in madness of Ash Williams (Bruce Campbell). Check out the featurette below.
“Ash vs. Evil Dead’s” first season ended in January and the second sees Ash return to Elk Grove, his hometown. Accompanied by the usual suspects of Pablo (Ray Santiago), Kelly (Dana DeLorenzo) and Ruby (Lucy Lawless), he goes back to his past in a big way, with new characters like his father, played by Lee Majors, childhood best friend Chet, played by Ted Raimi (brother of Sam) and Michelle Hurd (“Jessica Jones,” “Daredevil”), who joins the cast as Linda, Ash’s childhood sweetheart. As for the plot, you can probably guess: evil demons and their ilk are rising and its up to Ash to the “good [that’s] not that good” so he and his friends can fight the “evil [that’s] really bad.”
“Ash vs. Evil Dead” returns October 10 for its second season, consisting of 10 episodes, only on Starz. Check out the synopsis and promo art below!
The second season roars back into action with Ash leaving his beloved Jacksonville and returning to his hometown of Elk Grove. There, he confronts Ruby. The former enemies have to form an uneasy alliance as Elk Grove soon becomes the nucleus of evil.
The cast is led by Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, “Burn Notice”) in the role of Ash Williams; Lucy Lawless (“Salem,” “Spartacus”) as Ruby, who now possesses the powerful Necronomicon; Ray Santiago (“Touch,” Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, Ash’s loyal sidekick dealing with the trauma he suffered in the cabin; and Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, who, grief-stricken after the death of her parents, plots revenge against The Evil Dead.
