Warning: this post includes spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is out now in theaters and Captain Marvel only a few months away, but Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are still processing the cliffhanger of an ending to Avengers: Infinity War. There have been teasers to future films in Marvel movies before (the MCU basically built there business model on that very thing) but never has a film ending felt so incomplete, just going to show you how much the world is anticipating the still-untitled Avengers 4. Our favorite superheroes are either divided, dead or literally dust (it’s more than likely that last one will somehow be reversed but for now, we’ve only got half the line up we usually do). Recently, Kevin Feige, mastermind of the MCU, opened up about the mysterious project, particularly if it will leave fans with another massive cliffhanger.
During an interview with the Toronto Sun, Feige said the following:
“But, storylines can come to an end. The best stories do come to an end. Return of the Jedi was an ending for a long time and as a 10-year-old in 1983 that carried me through 30 years until there was a sequel. That hasn’t happened before in the superhero genre. A new actor comes in and a new storyline starts right away. We wanted to do it this way because we think that the best stories have a definitive ending to a storyline. That’s certainly what’s going to happen next year with Avengers 4.”
It’s fantastically reassuring in this age of franchise building and splitting-the-last-book-into-two-movies-ing that Feige feels confident enough in his property to give the Infinity Stone plotline a finality yet unseen. Note that this definitely does not mean the end of the MCU (as Marvel Studios already has plans for movies up to 2024), just the overarching story of Thanos and the Avengers’ attempts to stop him. There will be plenty of big baddies for our heroes to go up against in “Phase 4”, which will kick off with the next set of films after Avengers 4.
What do you hope to see in Avengers 4? Heck, with no actual title, what do you hope the film will be called? Let us know in the comments below.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is in theaters now. The still-untitled Avengers 4 film, to again be directed by the Russo Brothers, will be released on May 3, 2019.

‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Characters Ranked From Best To Worst
Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War is nothing short of a triumph. The way that directors Anthony and Joe Russo along with screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely managed to bring all of these larger-than-life characters from separate films together so cohesively and in such an entertaining manner is something to be praised. And given the epic scale of this project along with its massive ensemble, some characters get to have more satisfying arcs than others, but nonetheless – each character somehow gets to have their moment in the spotlight to shine.
Here are the majority of the characters from the remarkable ensemble of Avengers: Infinity War ranked from best to worst. Granted, none of these characters are put in the situation where the film reaches “bad” territory, but given the amount of characters involved, certain characters shine more than others. But even with that, this just goes to show how the Russo Brothers, Markus and McFeely knocked this out of the park. Start the list by clicking Next.
