Carrie Coon is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In an interview with Radio Times, Avengers: Infinity War co-director Joe Russo revealed that the Fargo and The Leftovers star is playing Proxima Midnight, a member of the Black Order. In the comics, Proxima Midnight is arguably the greatest warrior of Thanos, with a spear made of blades from a star that can cut through any substance.
Furhermore, Joe Russo’s brother and co-director Anthony confirmed that Terry Notary is voicing fellow Black Order member Cull Obsidian in addition to bringing the character to life through motion-capture. Tom Vaughan-Lawlor is also on board as Ebony Maw, but the identity of the actor behind Corvus Glaive remains a mystery.
Infinity War is the culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe and features the fractured Avengers teaming up with the Guardians of the Galaxy to take on the Mad Titan and his army. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for more updates as the film’s release approaches.
