The Internet Reacts To That ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Spider-Man Scene

Iron Man Spider-Man Avengers Infinity WarSince the release of Avengers: Infinity War, fans have been blown away by a particular scene involving Spider-Man and Iron Man.

During the film’s climax, the Avengers battle Thanos both on Earth and on his home planet of Titan in an effort to prevent him from obtaining all of the Infinity Stones. Ultimately, they fail and despite a last-minute act of heroism from Thor, Thanos succeeds in snapping his fingers and wiping out half of all life in the universe. Doctor Strange, (Benedict Cumberbatch), Black Panther, (Chadwick Boseman), Star-Lord, (Chris Pratt), Groot, (Vin Diesel), and many other characters fell victim to this act.

But none hit harder than the death of Spider-Man (Tom Holland).

In the film the character dies far slower then any other as Tony Stark holds him in his arms crying. The character then crumbles to dust leaving Tony in a state of grief. The reactions to the death have been nothing short of heart breaking:

This turn of events leaves the character’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in question. For years fans were eager to see Spider-Man in it and the success of his first solo film, Spider-Man: Homecoming, seemed to guarantee his longevity. Tom Holland is all-but guaranteed to return, but it looks like fans will have to wait a year to see how he comes back.

Here is the synopsis for Avengers: Infinity War:

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Peter Dinklage, Benedict Wong, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin, Chris Pratt, Danai Gurira and Letitia Wright.

Guys… It was a heartrending moment, but everyone who got erased – excepting only Okoye, Fury, Hill, Nebula, and Rocket – was a character who had been introduced since Avengers 1. They’re setting it up so that, with a little help from the FIVE (maybe 6 depending on Ant-Man’s ending) supers left aside from the original 6 Avengers, they’ll pull the win, and bring back at least everyone who got erased by Thanos. Hopefully that’ll be it, but I could see them bringing back the characters killed before that without much of a stretch. Either way, the whole group that was erased will be brought back, because they’re the next generation of the MCU, who will take over after the originals take their bow at the end of 4.

When Captain Marvel gets back from her Binary training(where I assume she’s been) she’ll help them seal the deal.

Are people that stupid to think these characters are gone permanently.
Spider-man is the highest grossing superhero in the world & Disney spent a lot to get borrow him. They aren’t just going to throw him aside.
Expect all those characters to return in #4 & the intros of new ones.

No one said he was gonna stay dead, they said it was emotional and yes it was.

  • Yes people, we know these characters are all still coming back, but in the moment it was still emotional.
