‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Co-Writer Says Making Bucky Captain America Would Be A Waste

Avengers Captain America BuckyWith the contracts of several long-time Marvel Cinematic Universe set to expire after Infinity War and Avengers 4, many fans are expecting the next two films featuring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to be the final appearance of many fan-favorite characters, including Chris Evans’ Captain America. In fact, fans are already speculating on which character should carry on the Captain America mantle after the fourth Avengers film. A popular choice among fans is Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes, who assumed the title in the comics, although Infinity War co-writer Christopher Markus recently explained why he believes that would be a waste of the character during an interview with Screen Rant.

Markus explained why he believes having Bucky take on the Captain America title would be a wasting the character:

“I will say, just on a fan level, I think Winter Soldier’s so awesome that I’m always like, why are you wasting Winter Soldier and putting him in like Captain America outfit? You had two heroes now you got one.”
