One question mark about the upcoming Marvel brawl comes in the form of villain Baron Zemo. Fans are extremely curious about this mysterious new addition to the MCU. And, according the actor portraying him, Daniel Brühl, the character will not be wearing his iconic purple mask, and will be a little different than what you’d expect.
In an interview with Business Insider, the ‘Burnt’ and ‘Inglorious Bastards’ actor flat out denied that the character would be wearing the menacing headwear, which is actually an irremovable adhesive called Adhesive X that fell on Zemo in a clash with Cap himself. The actor also had some interesting comments about Zemo’s characterization in ‘Civil War’. Brühl said:
“He does not wear the mask…You would be surprised, it’s different than what you’d think. It’s loosely connected to this character. But that’s what I like about the Marvel guys, some of the characters and things they’re dealing with always reference to current events so my character is from a different area than you would think.”
As for whether or not we would see Zemo after the events of ‘Civil War’, Brühl told Business Insider:
“There’s a possibility. That’s the way it’s written.”
It sounds like there’s a good chance we will see Baron Zemo again, even if he will be a little different from what fans had originally anticipated. However, like Brühl said, taking characters and making them fit into the MCU is what Marvel does best.
