‘Batman Beyond’: Terry McGinnis Has Finally Found His Robin

DC-Elseworlds-Batman-BeyondA surprising character addition has graced the pages of DC’s Batman Beyond comic. As reluctant as he was to accept it, Terry McGinnis has finally teamed with his very own Robin in the latest issue of Batman Beyond.

Batman Beyond #20 introduced readers to Terry’s very own Robin, the identity of which is his younger brother Matt. The caped crusader was joined by his younger brother on a mission in the latest issue, despite Terry being totally against it. This is the first time ever that Terry’s Batman has had a robin, which may cause a bit of trepidation among fans but it’s safe to say that this dynamic is unlike any other that the past duos have shared. Take a look at the new Robin in costume below:

The latest issue of Batman Beyond, written by Dan Jurgens and illustrated by Marco Castiello, introduces a completely new dynamic between Terry, Bruce, and Matt thanks to his introduction into the Bat-family. Bruce’s decision to bring Matt into the line of work that he and Terry encounter is sure to cause a couple of ripples between Bruce and Terry. Not only is Terry fearing for his brother’s life now, the fates that some previous Robin’s have faced isn’t exactly something to put Terry’s mind at ease.

The next issue of Batman Beyond will debut next month and is sure to continue the story arc in a very different way than we’ve seen before. The learning curve that Matt will face is sure to be an interesting one, given his inexperience. The new design of the costume is fantastic and I’m hoping that this Robin isn’t just being introduced just to die off sooner than later. It could be a very interesting point of drama between the two Batmen if that were to occur, but let’s hope that we get to see Matt swinging around with Terry for a long time.

Batwoman DC ComicsIt was just revealed that Batwoman herself will make an appearance in the next major Arrow crossover. After including characters like The Flash and Supergirl, Kate Kane herself is swinging into the Arrowverse. The character has been featured in animated DC projects, but she has never appeared in live-action before.

A talented actress is needed to bring such a strong character to life. Batwoman is just as fierce a fighter as her cousin Batman and she has a unique view on the world. An ex-soldier who was raised by her obsessive father, Kate Kane picked up the Batwoman mantle separate from her cousin’s decision to fight crime in Gotham. She has no problem putting herself in harm’s way to protect others and she’s also an intelligent tactician who will challenge Oliver Queen for the top slot in Arrow’s Justice League.
