DC announced its next animated movies, Batman: The Long Halloween and Justice Society: World War II for 2021.
With DC pushing its animated slate into a new direction following the end of the shared universe after Justice League Dark: Apokolips War, it was recently announced by IGN that 2021 will bring fans three new movies based on Batman: The Long Halloween and the Justice Society of America. Justice Society: World War II will focus on DC’s first ever superhero team as they assumedly go up against the Axis powers during the second World War. There’s no set release date for now, but it’ll arrive after Batman: Soul of the Dragon which is DC’s first animated movie of 2021.
Interestingly, Batman: The Long Halloween will be split into two movies, with each part being released within months of each other during late 2021. It’s a good move from DC, since Robert Pattinson’s The Batman arrives in October 2021 and is said to adapt parts of the legendary comic storyline. The source material sees the Dark Knight hunt down a murderer who only kills on holidays. It also features a number of Batman’s most iconic enemies as they transition into the supervillains fans know and love.
What do you make of the new DC animated movies? Are you excited to see Batman: The Long Halloween and Justice Society: World War II? Sound-off in the comments!
