Lauren Cohan Joins ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ As Martha Wayne

A couple of years ago, several set photos and videos from the set of Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice revealed that the movie would feature a flashback sequence of one of the most iconic moments in the history of the Dark Knight: The murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne at Crime Alley. Since then, it was revealed that Watchmen star Jeffrey Dean Morgan would be portraying Thomas Wayne in the movie and now we know the identity of the actress who will be bringing his wife to life.

IMDB broke the news that The Walking Dead star Lauren Cohan has been added to the cast list of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as none other than Martha Wayne. Entertainment Weekly later confirmed the story and in addition to that, the actress herself retweeted the news on her personal Twitter account and thanked fans for their support, so it’s pretty safe to say that she will have a brief role in the DC Extended Universe.

Funnily enough, Jeffrey Dean Morgan recently joined the cast of AMC’s The Walking Dead as Negan, a villain who shook things up for Cohan’s Maggie in a dramatic way over the course of Robert Kirkman’s comic books. If recent rumors are to be believed, it looks like we’re going to see something similar play out on the series after the villain makes his debut in the season finale.
