‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ Director Zack Snyder Talks Ben Affleck’s First Go-Around In The Batsuit

Only a few select actors can say they have successfully pulled off the Batsuit. Michael Keaton’s Batman costume was a faithful adaptation from the comics and receives bonus points for being the first big screen iteration. Christian Bale’s Caped Crusader get-up was a more realistic version and The Dark Knight trilogy is widely considered one of the best superhero movie franchises to date, so he gets a passing grade.

Will Ben Affleck join those two in the Batman pantheon when Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters next year?

Although he may be bias, director Zack Snyder is all aboard the Batfleck hype train. During the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony this week for Batman creator Bob Kane, Snyder discussed the first time he saw Affleck in full Batman gear.

We put him in front of the camera, and I was just having him turn and look around a little bit, looking Batman-ish…and when I looked at Ben he was the perfect personification of the Batman I had in my mind.

Again, it’s not as if Snyder is going to bash his hand-picked Bruce Wayne. But it’s encouraging that he — and reportedly the rest of Warner Bros.  — are so enthusiastic about Affleck’s portrayal. Although it’s to be expected, everything coming from the filmmaker and studio has been remarkably positive and that’s a good sign for fans who want Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice to stick the landing.

Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice will hit theaters on March 25, 2016.
