Fans React To The CW’s New ‘Batwoman’ Television Series

Batwoman DC ComicsToday, it was reported that the CW was developing a Batwoman television series and fans have taken to social media to share their thoughts on the news.

In May,  Arrow star Stephen Amell and CW President Mark Pedowitz announced that Batwoman would be joining the Arrowverse heroes in this year’s crossover event and now Greg Berlanti is teaming up with the network to develop a standalone series for the DC heroine. Fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on the developing series and it appears that while many are excited to see a lesbian character lead her own television show, others are concerned that the CW may not do the beloved heroine justice.

You can check out some of the reactions below!

Here’s the official logline for the Batwoman series:

Batwoman revolves around Kate Kane, who, armed with a passion for social justice and flair for speaking her mind, soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet: in a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.

Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries) is writing the script and executive producing the series while Sarah Schechter of Berlanti Productions and Geoff Johns are also on board as executive producers.

Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the project as it develops!
