BB-8 Officially Confirmed For ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’

Star Wars The Force Awakens BB-8 BB-8’s return for the next installment of the Skywalker saga has officially been confirmed.

With production on Star Wars: Episode IX currently underway, BB-8’s puppeteer Brian Herring has revealed via Twitter that the adorable droid is returning for the highly-anticipated movie. Check out his post below.

The Force Awakens helmer J.J. Abrams is back in the director’s chair for Episode IX, with a cast that includes Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Keri Russell, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels and Billy Dee Williams. Carrie Fisher is also set to appear in the movie with the use of never-before-seen footage from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

In addition to directing, Abrams is also writing Star Wars: Episode IX alongside Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League scribe Chris Terio. Details regarding the film’s plot are being kept under lock and key.
