Batman v Superman star Jeffrey Dean Morgan becomes Flashpoint Batman for Ben Affleck in a cool piece of fan art inspired by the DC Extended Universe movies.
The concept design comes courtesy of digital artist “ryans.reviews” on Instagram as we see Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s likeness utilized to fit into the Flashpoint Batman outfit. It follows the same aesthetic seen from the comics, including the red circle surrounding the Bat emblem as well as the piercing red eyes on the cowl.
You can check out what Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Thomas Wayne could look like as the Flashpoint version of Batman for Ben Affleck below.

For those unaware, the Flashpoint storyline in the comics followed The Flash as he navigated an altered DC Universe. In this alternate world, Thomas Wayne became Batman after his son, Bruce, was murdered and his wife, Martha, consequently went mad and became the Joker.
If Flashpoint were to follow the existing canon of the DC Extended Universe, Jeffrey Dean Morgan could’ve played a version of the Dark Knight given that he portrayed Thomas Wayne in the opening sequence of Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman.
Warner Bros. previously had a Flashpoint movie in development with Ezra Miller. Ben Affleck was reportedly approached to direct Flashpoint and perhaps reprise his role as Batman in the film but he turned the opportunity down. Given that Ben Affleck has officially passed the torch onto Robert Pattinson and the fact that Andy Muschietti is looking to start Ezra Miller’s The Flash movie from scratch, it is unlikely we will hear any updates regarding a live-action Flashpoint project anytime soon, so don’t expect to hear news on Jeffrey Dean Morgan returning to the DCEU anytime soon as Thomas Wayne.
But if Flashpoint were to be adapted to the big screen in the canon of the DCEU, would you like to see Jeffrey Dean Morgan don the Batsuit? Would Ben Affleck also factor into the story? Tell us in the comments!
Warner Bros. and DC will now move forward with a new version of Batman completely unrelated to Ben Affleck’s incarnation. Full plot details for The Batman are being kept under lock and key, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and features a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. The Matt Reeves film will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson as Batman.
Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon.
The Batman opens in theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Ben Affleck and the future of the DC Extended Universe.
