In an interview for The Accountant with MTV, The Batman director, the caped crusader himself, Ben Affleck revealed that he’s not sure if Robin will be in his solo Batman film. His The Accountant co-star Anna Kendrick then subtly threw in her name for consideration after expressing her love for superhero movies:
“Can I just say what has two thumbs and loves superhero movies? This guy… love it. I love them! Put down that school bus Doctor Disaster … love it.”
Kendrick was quick to prove her passion for the genre after being asked about her upcoming projects:
“I don’t know, I have a big hole in the Kendrick schedule. I just wish I knew someone who was directing an action movie and could cast little old me.”
If that wasn’t enough for everyone to take the hint, Kendrick, dressed in a yellow cape, mask and Robin logo, took it a step further when Affleck was asked about the status The Batman:
“Holy coincidence Batman! Any room for a plucky sidekick?”
“I’m not sure we’re having a Robin, so tough luck,” Affleck replied, crushing the dreams of Kendrick and everyone else warming up to the idea of an Affleck-Kendrick duo.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Robin on the big screen, excluding Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s too brief exposure as Robin in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. Even though DCEU alum and architect has already confirmed that Robin died before the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it’d be nice to see Robin appear in a flashback or have Nightwing make an appearance as Batman’s sidekick. What do you think readers? Will we, should we, see Robin in The Batman? Should we see Nightwing instead? Let us know in the comments below!
