Ben Affleck’s The Last Duel look has been revealed and it resemebles the original Batman design by Bob Kane.

After stepping away from the role of Batman in the DC Extended Universe, Ben Affleck is now busy shooting The Last Duel, a film he co-wrote with Matt Damon. The Last Duel is directed by the legendary Ridley Scott and stars Matt Damon, Adam Driver and Ben Affleck as 14th-century royalty.

The first photos from the set of The Last Duel surfaced online this week, giving fans a first look at Ben Affleck’s character. Upon inspecting the photos, Ben Affleck’s character appears to be a classic portrayal of royalty but once you look closer, you might notice that he kinda looks like Bob Kane’s first design for Batman. An eagle-eyed fan on Reddit pointed out the similarities and made a collage of Ben Affleck and Bob Kane’s Batman. Check out Ben Affleck’s look for The Last Duel below and tell us if he looks like the first design for Batman.

HUMOR: Ben Affleck will play Batman again in a very faithful adaptation inspired in the first version illustrated by Bob Kane from DC_Cinematic

In case you don’t remember, Batman’s first design was drastically different than his current look. In his original design, Batman was sporting batwings, yellow hair and a red suit with a gold belt. Interestingly, the original version didn’t have the iconic Bat symbol. In fact, the original suit has a day and night difference when compared to the Batsuit Ben Affleck wore for Justice League.

The similarities between the two looks are striking on almost every level. From the golden yellow hair to the red and gold costume, the only thing the character is missing is batwings to make the whole thing perfect. Of course, it’s hard to imagine that the costume designers purposefully made the character look just like the first version of Batman but this is hilarious nonetheless. It’s also interesting to see how far Batman’s costume design has come over the years.
