Bill Skarsgard Takes Over Joker Role For Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman’ In New Fan Art

A new piece of fan art imagines It: Chapter Two star Bill Skarsgard as The Joker with a classic look for Robert Pattinson’s Batman trilogy.

With casting for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman currently underway, fans are wondering if they’ll be seeing The Joker squaring off against Batman soon. Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker is out of the question because his character is intended to be kept isolated and not be branched into other films. Meanwhile, Jared Leto’s Joker most likely doesn’t have a place in the DCEU anymore and it would be awkward for the character take on Robert Pattinson’s Batman considering this Clown Prince of Crime is connected to Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight.

That leaves us with The Batman director Matt Reeves and star Robert Pattinson wanting to find a new Joker to compliment the brand new, detective-focused route they’re taking with the movie. A frequent name brought up by fans is Bill Skarsgard, who most readers will know as Pennywise from the new It movies. Bill Skarsgard is not only young and can compliment the cast of The Batman, but also has considerable experience playing a menacing clown thanks to his breakout role as Pennywise. Seeing as Bill Skarsgard is already qualified for the job, he seems to be the perfect fit for The Joker. Recently, Instagram user “bobby_art” took to Instagram to share a cool piece of fan art showing Bill Skarsgard as The Joker, wearing simple clothes with the iconic makeup.

“You know what they say bats…Madness is the real emergency exit for life…Hehe.” I was asked to do a joker edit not too long ago so here’s my quick little take on Bill Skarsgard (the guy who played pennywise) as The Joker. I think he’s be perfect for Robert Pattinson’s Batman. I’d like for this Joker to be fascinated by a guy dressed up as a bat, and would only have fun by tormenting that bat. I hope he’s a lot more Arkham Joker in terms of personality compared to the other live action Jokers, all of which I love except for a certain version. ? – – – – – #thejoker #joker2019 #it #pennywise#gotham #batman #cameronmonaghan #dc #billskarsgard #itchapter2 #robertpattinson#batmanvillains #batmanarkhamknight #jokeredit #mrj #batmantheanimatedseries #BTAS #toddphillips #joaquinphoenix #joaquinphoenixjoker #jacknichiloson #jacknicholsonjoker #heathledger #heathledgerjoker #threejokers #jokerquotes #jokers #joker #jokerreviews #toddphillips

One of the coolest things about this artwork is that the artist really downplayed the extremities of Pennywise and made Bill Skarsgard look almost normal as The Joker. It’s certainly an interesting look and should definitely be considered by The Batman director Matt Reeves if he decides to include the Clown Prince of Crime in his movies.

Unfortunately, there is no indication that Joker will appear in Robert Pattinson’s The Batman. The film is expected to have a slew of villains — namely Catwoman, The Riddler and The Penguin –but there’s no concrete evidence that points towards The Joker appearing in Robert Pattinson’s first cinematic solo outing as the DC Comics hero. Still, we can always imagine what Bill Skarsgard could look like as The Joker.

What do you think of the artwork featuring Bill Skarsgard? Do you think Bill Skarsgard would make a good Joker for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman? Let us know in the comments!

Plot details for The Batman are scarce. The film will reportedly center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin and The Riddler. The Matt Reeves film will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new Batman trilogy starring Robert Pattinson.

Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, and Paul Dano as the Riddler. Westworld star Jeffrey Wright was recently reported to be in talks for the role of Commissioner James Gordon.

The Batman is set to hit theaters on June 25, 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Robert Pattinson, Bill Skarsgard and other DC Films projects.
