Today, ScreenX announced that Black Panther will be the first Marvel Studios film released in the ScreenX format.
In a collaboration between CJ 4DPLEX and The Walt Disney Studios, Black Panther will become the first Marvel Studios to be converted into ScreenX, the world’s first multi-projection system that provides a 270-degree panoramic film viewing experience within a theatre setting. In addition to receiving a ScreenX release in eight different countries across the world, Black Panther will also open globally in 4DX, an immersive experience featuring motion seats and environmental effects brought to audiences by CJ 4DPLEX.
Black Panther will be released at 101 ScreenX locations on three different continents. The film will play in Korea, China, United States, Turkey, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan and Indonesia.
Dave Hollis, President, Theatrical Distribution, The Walt Disney Studios, made the following statement on the film’s ScreenX release:
“The immersive world of Wakanda is perfect for the panoramic ScreenX format, and we know from our previous collaborations with the ScreenX team that it will deliver an outstanding moviegoing experience for ‘Black Panther.’”
James Kang, Executive Vice President of ScreenX Division, CGV, stated:
“Each time Disney teams with us to convert one of their films into ScreenX or 4DX, we see a magnificent reaction at the movie theatre. As the first Marvel film in ScreenX, ‘Black Panther’ promises to elicit an amazing reaction from fans by immersing them into the Marvel Cinematic Universe at a new and thrilling level.”
The world’s first 4D cinema company, CJ 4DPLEX created the first and leading 4D cinema technology for feature films, 4DX, providing audiences with an immersive moviegoing experience through the use of environmental special effects that enhance the visuals on-screen.
“Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the events of “Captain America: Civil War,” returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.
Directed by Ryan Coogler, the film stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown, Andy Serkis and John Kan.
Black Panther will be released in theaters on February 16, 2018.
10 Characters That Need To Be Avengers In Marvel’s Phase Four
Avengers: Infinity War arrives this year, and will be followed by a currently untitled fourth Avengers film that will close off Phase 3 and will mark a new chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In Phase 4 it is safe to say audiences will meet a new roster of the Avengers.
Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America have been the pillars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since its inception, as their individual films have guided lead audiences into each Avengers film. But with the next two Avengers film it is safe to say the curtain will set for those three. That means the Avengers as audiences know them will change dramatically. This means the team will need some new members, ones that will make a big impression to fill the shoes of their predecessors.
While the status of other founding members like the Hulk, Black Widow, Hawkeye and more up in the air right now, part of the fun in the Avengers comics is the ever-changing roster. The latest roster for the Avengers needs to make a statement. This isn’t the same old Avengers, this is the beginning of a new chapter. Some characters should be upgraded, others will take center stage as the new tentpole franchises, and the Avengers will be new.
Here are the ten characters that should make up the roster for Marvel’s New Avengers. Click Next to get started!
