First ‘Blade Runner 2049’ Reactions Hit The Web

Blade Runner 2049With the social media embargo lifted, the first reactions to Blade Runner 2049, the long-awaited sequel to Ridley Scott’s classic Blade Runner have hit the web.

The sequel picks up thirty years after the events of the first film following the new Blade Runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling) after he discovers a terrible secret that could send what is left of society into chaos prompting him to go on a search for Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) who has been missing since we saw him escape with the replicant Rachel (Sean Young).

So just how does the sequel fare? The first reactions from critics praise the film as a mindblowing and breathtaking sci-fi masterpiece. You can check out their tweets below.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve, the film stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Carla Juri, Lennie James, with Dave Bautista and Jared Leto. Here’s the official synopsis:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
