While it probably comes as a surprise to no one, earlier this week Bob Iger, chairman and CEO of the Walt Disney Company, appeared on BLOOMBERG to discuss STAR WARS, and during the discussion he finally made confirmation that Indiana Jones will return.
While discussing STAR WARS, Marvel, Pixar, and their other properties, Iger casually stated:
“Indiana Jones, by the way, which will be coming.”
While the topic of another Indiana Jones film has been more and more prevalent recently. Everyone from Steven Spielberg to and even to Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedyhave discussed it recently, but it seems this is the first official confirmation of the film.
It goes without saying that the film will be a continuation, following from the final steps laid out in Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, but some rumors have indicated that Lucasfilm may be planning to recast the role of Henry “Mutt” Williams (who was played by Shia Labeouf) to instead be played by an older actor who can carry on the torch. Names like Chris Pratt and Bradley Cooper have run rampant in the rumor mill, but now that actual confirmation of the films existence is out there it wont be long until we find out for sure.
