Box Office: ‘Secret Life Of Pets’ Dominates With $103.2M Opening

If you have ever wondered what your pets did while you when to work or school, the answer might be dominate the domestic box office. The Secret Life Of Pets has won the box office weekend, opening with $103.2M.

This opening beats Inside Out ($90.4 million) and has earned the best start ever for an original animated property, not counting for inflation.

Earning the second place at the box office this weekend was The Legend of Tarzan, which earned $20.6 million. Finding Dory continued to make an impressive stand at the box office, making an additional $20.4 million which pushes that animated feature past Captain America: Civil War as the biggest movie of the year so far.

Rounding out the top five was the new comedy Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, earning $16.6 million, coming in fourth place and The Purge: Election Year closed out the top five films, earning another $11.7 million.
