Netflix’s ‘Bright’ Gets Its Very Own ‘Honest Trailers’ Treatment

Comic-Con BrightThe Screen Junkies are back with a brand new Honest Trailer that puts David Ayer’s and Max Landis’ Bright through its paces.

Off the bat, the Screen Junkies take shots at Netflix’s lackluster slate of original films for which Bright holds the biggest budget for. They are also quick to point out that Ayer, the director of Suicide Squad, and Landis, the writer of Victor Frankenstein, are probably not the best candidates to do this movie justice. The video then rips into the typecasting of Will Smith and the tone-deaf allegory the movie tries to present itself as (along with the conflicting yet all around negative critical responses).

Set in an alternate present-day where humans, orcs, elves, and fairies have been co-existing since the beginning of time. Bright is genre-bending action movie that follows two cops from very different backgrounds. Ward (Will Smith) and Jakoby (Joel Edgerton), embark on a routine patrol night and encounter a darkness that will ultimately alter the future and their world as they know it.

Bright stars Will Smith, Joel Edgerton, Noomi Rapace, Edgard Ramirez, Ike Barinholtz, Brad William Henke, Lucy Fry, Chris Browning, and Kenneth Choi.

Bright is now available to stream on Netflix.
