Bryan Singer Compares ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ To ‘Game Of Thrones’; New BTS Image

Sites are beginning to reveal the details from their visits to the Montreal set of X-Men: Apocalypse, and it looks like the film might be even darker than the trailer made it seem. While speaking with Yahoo Films, director Bryan Singer compares the film to HBO’s fantasy series Game Of Thrones. Check out his comparison and a new behind-the-scenes image from the film below.

There’s a crossover between ‘X-Men’ and ‘Game Of Thrones’, they’re both about a younger generation finding their powers, finding out who they are, and what their place in the world is. I like how the show’s about different groups of people moving towards a common goal. They don’t even know if that’s the right goal, who wants to sit on that uncomfortable throne? I don’t! Everyone in King’s Landing is miserable. But for some reason they want that power.

With Singer comparing the film to Game Of Thrones, I’d also say that it is a safe bet that not everyone will be making it out of this one alive. I’ve heard a few rumors about character deaths in the film that I won’t spoil here but it looks like X-Men: Apocalypse could end up being the bleakest installment in the franchise yet. Let us know your thoughts on Singer’s comments in the section below.
