Deadpool 2 is about a month away from releasing in theatres and the anticipation for the film is growing every day. After the last trailer, fans were left wondering what the kid, played by Hunt for the Wilderpeople’s Julian Dennison, has that Cable wants. We don’t even know the character’s name yet. In a new TV spot for the film, Deadpool hatches a plan to protect the kid from Josh Brolin’s Cable and we get some hints about just who the character is.
The TV spot is light on specifics but heavy on the action:
The only clue we get to the kid’s mutant abilities is the brief clip of his glowing hands. The cop car on fire behind him could indicate that his powers are fire-related. Still, it’s hard to tell from just this TV spot. What we do know is that Deadpool has his work cut out for him if he intends to keep Cable away from the kid. Deadpool got really tired deflecting all those bullets. Hopefully, he’ll catch a second-wind in time to stop the time-traveling mutant before it’s too late.
Who do you think Julian Dennison’s character is? Let us know down in the comments! Here’s the official synopsis for Deadpool 2:
After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
Directed by David Leitch, the film stars Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Nathan Summers/Cable, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapcic as Piotr Rasputin/Colossus, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, and Karan Soni as Dopinder. Julian Dennison, Jack Kesy and Shioli Kutsuna join the cast in undisclosed roles.
Deadpool 2 is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 18, 2018.

5 Essential Cable Stories To Read Before His Debut In ‘Deadpool 2’
Now that it’s official Josh Brolin will be suiting up as Cable in Deadpool 2, it’s time for everyone to get a crash course on the character so they can say “that’s not how it happened in the comic” when they see the movie with their friends.
Nathan Summers, the future son of Cyclops and Jean Grey, first debuted in 1986, but he didn’t make his full debut as Cable until 1990. Rob Liefeld designed him to be a leader more prone to take action than Xavier and that character trait has persisted throughout his long history. Cable has fought alongside the X-Men in the past as well as fought for mutants survival against the government in a dark future.
Cable is the straight-man to Deadpool’s goofball and I can’t wait to see the two of them come together next year in Deadpool 2. Hopefully Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin have the chemistry to bring this legendary bro-mance to the bigscreen, otherwise Fox will be hearing from a lot of angry fans.
