While headlines have been ongoing about all things Supergirl and The CW related, one character’s fate on the show is still up in the air.
CW President, Mark Pedowitz commented on the future of Calista Flockhart (Cat Grant) and if she would be back on board for the second season of Supergirl.
“We are very happy to have her. There are ongoing discussions. We are thrilled that she wants to continue on the show, and we are thrilled to have her in whatever capacity.”
Rumors have circulated that Flockhart might be able to fly to Vancouver periodically, filming scenes for multiple episodes at one time. Reducing her overall travel time for the show.
After an average season one within the ratings, it made scene that the show would move to this network. Supergirl comes from executive producers Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Ali Adler.
The show will be moving to Vancouver, Canada as previously reported when discussions had just first started. While not part of the official announcement, it is safe to say that they will somehow be merging Supergirl into The Flash/Arrow/Legends of TomorrowUniverse through something like a Flashpoint or Crisis event. There had been concerns that due to some budget cuts that will be coming that some cast members would be trimmed off the main group, but it appears that everyone is coming back for the second season.
