Marvel Entertainment hasn’t released a whole lot of new material in the last few days to promote Captain America: Civil War, but they were nice enough to give fans an updated look at a couple of things we’ve seen before in two officially released, high-quality images. The first is a high-quality rendition of the familiar “Heroes Collide” concept art by in-house artists Andy Park and Ryan Meinerding.
This art shows Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.) duking it out while their teams pair up against each other and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) just sort of watches. Sidekicks Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and War Machine (Don Cheadle) are going at it in the background while the foreground features Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) clawing at Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) as seen in the trailer. We also see Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) attacking Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Vision (Paul Bettany) firing a beam at Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). It’s safe to say that shippers who wondered if Vision and Scarlet Witch would ever share the same romance on film as they shared in the comics may not be getting their wish just yet.
Our other treat is a high-quality still of a shot seen briefly in the trailer, featuring four members of Captain America’s team (Hawkeye, Wanda, Cap and Bucky) standing in a row in what appears to be the lead-up to a fight scene.
That’s all we have in promotional imagery for now, but we’ll let you know if anything newer comes to light. Captain America: Civil War releases on May 6, 2016.
