Brand New ‘Cars 3’ Trailer Coming Soon

After the extremely ominous and dark first teaser, a trailer for Cars 3 looks to be dropping soon. During the most recent round of the College football playoffs, Pixar announced the trailer would drop during the Alabama vs Clemson game.

The game will take place on Monday, January 9th at 8 pm EST on ESPN. So sometime Monday night will see the trailer’s release. Hopefully, we’ll get to see more of the tone for the upcoming film– whether the film will actually age like its fans have.

While after the teaser, rumors of Lightning McQueen dying swirled, the official description says otherwise.

Blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers, the legendary Lightning McQueen is suddenly pushed out of the sport he loves. To get back in the game, he will need the help of an eager young race technician with her own plan to win, inspiration from the late Fabulous Hudson Hornet, and a few unexpected turns. Proving that #95 isn’t through yet will test the heart of a champion on Piston Cup Racing’s biggest stage!

Owen Wilson is the only cast member currently set to return, but it is likely at least Larry the Cable Guy, who played Towmater, will return as well.

Cars 3 is racing into theaters on June 16th, 2017.
