Crazy Chewbacca In Full ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Deleted Scene

Chewbacca The Force Awakens Star WarsBack in October, we were treated to a partial deleted scene from The Force Awakens where Chewbacca had a confrontation with one Unkar Plutt. Now, the full scene has been released with more violence.

The deleted scene is featured on the new 3-D Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray which released the month after the partial scene debuted. Just recently however, has the full scene made its way online.

The scene reveals the fate of Unkar Plutt. Unkar Plutt was the junk dealer on Jakku which skimped out on bread. When Rey escaped Jakku she also escaped Plutt, but in the deleted scene Plutt reappears at Maz Kanata’s cantina. Plutt tracked the Millenium Falcon the same way Han and Chewie did earlier in the film, which lead him to Takodana. He then corners Rey in the cantina and when she pulls a weapon on him, he snatches it away. Chewbacca however picks up the weapon and looms over Plutt. Plutt is not intimiated and begins poking the Wookie.

While the original clip ended there, we now get to witness Chewbacca ripping off Plutt’s arm in glorious fashion.

Rey took her first steps into a larger world in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and will continue her epic journey with Finn, Poe, and Luke Skywalker in the next chapter of the continuing Star Wars saga, Star Wars: Episode VIII.

… and throws Plutt’s arm on a dejarik board, a direct allusion to Han Solo’s remark in the original Star Wars movie advising C-3P0 to let Chewie win “cause a droid don’t pull people’s arms out of their sockets when they lose. Wookiees are known to do that.”

Such an awesome scene. I wish it had been kept in.

There was a deleted scene from Return of the Jedi where, during the ending Ewok celebration, the camera cut over to Chewie and he was eating a dead Ewok. They should’ve kept all that shot in.

  • Boy, Plutt looks awful.

Ya don’t finish the CGI if you are going to cut the scene, right? 2+2=4 and all that.
