Chiwetel Ejiofor Chats ‘Doctor Strange’; Comments On Diversity In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

While we may be currently focused on the big superhero brawls about go down on the big screen, we can’t forget that Marvel Studios is about to dive full on into the mystic realm with the Scott Derrickson helmed Doctor Strange later this year. While speaking with HeyUGuys about his latest film Triple 9, actor Chiwetel Ejiofor chatted a bit about joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the film as Baron Mordo.

“I think he’s a fascinating character. Even in the original framework of that character, I think he’s very fascinating. And fleshing that out and giving three-dimensional quality has been really exciting. And even within the kind of scope, technical and visual scale of the Marvel Universe, I think this is really something unique as well. So, I’m excited for people to see it.”

When asked about diversity in superhero films, a much discussed topic in recent times, the actor commented on the subject by stating that “Marvel is certainly introducing a lot of different characters, and diversity in characters. And getting Black Panther up and running is really great and really exciting.
