Natalie Portman becomes Mighty Thor in a cool new concept for Chris Hemsworth’s Thor: Love and Thunder.
A few months ago at the Marvel Studios Hall H presentation during San Diego Comic-Con International, Natalie Portman surprised fans by appearing on stage to confirm her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for Chris Hemsworth’s Thor: Love and Thunder. Fans also learned that in addition to reuniting with Chris Hemsworth for the sequel, Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster would become the female version of the God of Thunder, Mighty Thor.
Thor: Love and Thunder has yet to begin production and fans have not seen an official photo of what Natalie Portman’s Mighty Thor is going to look like in the Chris Hemsworth film. That hasn’t stopped fans from imagining what Natalie Portman’s Mighty Thor could be and the concept that comes from Instagram user “marveldccosmic,” gives fans a good idea of what Jane Foster will look like suited up in Asgardian armor.

Natalie Portman was reportedly disappointed with how Marvel Studios dismissed original The Dark World director Patty Jenkins’ vision for that film before her exit from the project over creative differences. This is believed to have played a part in Natalie Portman leaving the franchise altogether, but her brief role through archival footage in Avengers: Endgame kept her stamp within the Marvel Cinematic Universe as relevant to the ongoing plot, and now that she can step in the role of the new Thor she has an opportunity to have a stronger heroic presence compared to her previous portrayal as Chris Hemsworth’s love interest.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, and Natalie Portman. The film will be based on Jason Aaron’s Mighty Thor comic book run, with Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster set to become the new Thor.
Thor: Love and Thunder is set to hit theaters on November 5, 2021.
