It seems the rumors were true, Christopher Nolan’s next film for Warner Brothers will be a World War II film entitled “Dunkirk.”
Variety has broken the news that Nolan will direct the film from his own original screenplay as his next project. According to the break they believe that Nolan will be casting a group of yet-to-be cast unknowns, but he will also be looking at Mark Rylance, Kenneth Branagh and Tom Hardy to potentially join the cast.
According to Variety, the film’s plot will reportedly be set during the evacuation of the Northern French City of Dunkirk during WWII.
While no official release date was given, Warner Bros. had previously dated the film for July 21, 2017, which may change once production officially begins.
