‘Captain America: Civil War’ Racks Up $261M At Foreign Box Office Ahead Of Domestic Debut

civil-war-steve-buckyCaptain America: Civil War hits North America tonight where it’s expected to have a massive opening weekend but it’s already doing strong numbers overseas. The film currently has an racked up $261.6M overseas and debuted in Italy on Wednesday with $1.2 million. Early estimates for midnight screenings in China put the film at $2.6M which is the fourth biggest opening night in the country right below Furious 7, Avengers: Age Of Ultron & Transformers: Age Of Extinction.

The Phase Three film is currently looking at what could be the biggest domestic opening for a superhero film to date but just how big currently remains to be seen. Many are predicting that the film could land the second biggest opening of all-time right behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens. How many times do you plan on seeing Captain America: Civil War?     I am confused, how are they going to come up with the opening weekend numbers for international and domestic box office? Take the numbers from international box office opening weekend and then add it to the numbers earned domestically on it’s opening weekend since the movie has not opened worldwide at the same weekend :/ Please help.
