Following bringing in $19.44 million at the domestic box office on Friday, Captain America: Civil War has now brought it’s worldwide total to $807.7M. This makes the film the third highest grossing of the year right behind Zootopia & Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice. However, after this weekend’s business, the Phase Three release will surpass Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice to become the year’s second highest grossing film to date.
While it still has a bit of time before it surpasses that film and Deadpool domestically, it’ll only be a short matter of time before that one happens and it goes on to be the biggest film of the year so far. The film is guaranteed to join the “billion dollar club” but how much higher above that it goes remains to be seen. Could it possibly go on to surpass the $1.4B hauld brought in by Avengers: Age Of Ultron last year? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments section below.
