With the film showing zero signs of slowing down, Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War hit a few benchmarks at the box office yesterday. Grossing $13.7M yesterday, which is a bit ahead of it’s Monday take of $13.3M , the Marvel Studios release has now grossed $206.2M domestically. Overseas the film opened huge in China and to date has brought in $531.6M which brings it’s worldwide total to $737.7M.
This number pushes it’s total past that of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the previous installment in the franchise, which had a total cume of $714.4 back in 2014. It has also now become the fifth highest grossing film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe to date, sitting right behind Guardians Of Galaxy with $773M. With these kinds of numbers, there’s zero doubt that the film will join the “billion dollar club” and join the top ten highest grossing films of all time.
