First Trailer For ‘The Conjuring’ Spin-Off ‘The Nun’ Debuts Online

The Nun The ConjuringA new trailer for The Conjuring spin-off film The Nun has debuted online and it’s absolutely terrifying.

Fans that recall The Conjuring 2 will remember the demon Valak that took the form of the world’s creepiest nun. The antagonist of The Conjuring sequel scared audiences so well the fine people at Warner Bros. and New Line decided to give the nun her own film. And now audiences get their first glimpse of how this terrible nightmare began. You can check out the trailer below.

The trailer starts off by bringing us back before The Conjuring and Annabelle to the film’s Romania setting in 1952.We’re then introduced to Taissa Farmiga as Sister Irene. Farmiga is the real-life sister to Vera Farmiga who plays Loraine Warren in The Conjuring films. Demian Bichir plays a priest that joins Farmiga’s Sister Irene as they investigate a mysterious suicidal death of a nun at the Cârța Monastery. They find a lot more then they baragined for as the trailer promises the same level of terrifying cinema fans have grown used to from the other films in The Conjuring universe.

James Wan and company have created a very successful horror cinematic universe from The Conjuring. The Nun will be the next installment in the mega-franchise following the box-office success of both Conjuring films as well as the two Anabelle films. Hopefully, The Nun can continue the tradition of success the Conjuring films are used to and keep fans sleeping with the light on long after the film releases this fall.

The Nun is directed by Corin Hardy and stars Taissa Farmiga, Demian Bichir, Charlotte Hope, Ingrid Bisu, Jonas Bloquet, and Bonnie Aarons. The film is produced by Peter Safran and James Wan.
